4 Pillars of Cooperative Governance Self-Assessment Tool

4 Pillars of Cooperative Governance Self-Assessment Tool

  |  April 7, 2015

Boards can use this survey tool to do a broad, self-assessment of their own work. It utilizes the 4 Pillars of Co-op Governance as an organizing lens with some broad, key characteristics to fit under each Pillar: Teaming, Accountable Empowerment, Strategic Leadership and Democracy. By asking team members to fill out the survey and then reviewing the data, a group can build a broader understanding of how it perceives its own strengths and weaknesses. This tool is designed to aid a group with that reflection. It can help create a shared understanding of both, what is working well and where there might be opportunities for improvement.

Feel free to use this fillable PDF among your board,

CBLD clients may contact their consultants to receive a link to a customized online survey and results.

“Along with monitoring the group’s adherence to their own expectations (self-monitoring), it can also be useful to reflect on the team’s work, either at regular intervals or as needed.” —Todd Wallace, Columinate
