Our ROC consultant team has over forty years of combined experience serving cooperatives and their boards. We understand people and have a wealth of tools and knowledge to share.
We are here to provide extra staffing support, or bench strength, so you can meet your goals for organizing and governance, trainings for boards or CTAP staff, Spanish-English Interpretation, mentoring new TAs, or any custom service. Our presence can help provide added experience and reduce strain on your staff.
Our first step is always to collaborate with the CTAP team to clearly understand your needs and to help develop a plan for delivering services virtually or in person.

Our Services
Technical Assistance
- Provide day-to-day operational support and guidance to Boards including governance, infrastructure, CIP planning, interpretation services
- Determine training needs supporting greater Board independence and empowerment
- Outlining board tasks to prepare for board meetings, creating self-reliance and autonomy
- Promote Board development and growth through regular peer collaboration, creating a larger sense of belonging
Organizing/Pre-acquisition Work
- Provide organizing and project management support with respect to cooperative governance and ownership
- Provide educational support regarding cooperative governance and ownership
- Assist communities with acquisition decisions, problem-solving and the cooperative conversion process within acquisition timeline
- Support and/or supervise new or existing Organizer staff as needed. Report on support and supervision as directed.
Board and Member Trainings
- Relational Trainings – to help develop deeper board and board/member relationships
- Technical Trainings – ROC USA trainings
- Policy Revision
- ROC 101 – for new co-ops, board/members and a refresher for veteran boards
- Trainings can be developed or tailored to the needs of any given CTAP or board
Translation and Interpretation Services
- The goal is to expand Language Justice through Language Accessibility
- Remote translation and interpretation services in English and Spanish
- In-person Interpretation available in the California Central Valley and Bay Area
- Culturally competent services put toward social justice and community transformation
- Turn-around time on translation depends on length of documents
- Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpretation (2 hours minimum)
Staff Onboarding, Supervision, and Mentoring
- Create onboarding schedule, including regular times for check in and time to answer new TA questions
- Determine ideal timeline and overlap with current staff
- Evaluate nuances of each co-op and plan of action
- Have new TA observe Consultant in action at a board meeting and any of the above mentioned trainings
- Work with with Program Director and Supervisee/Mentee to clarify needs, outcome, and time frame
- Hold regular or as-needed meetings with Supervisee/Mentee to provide support and collaborate on solutions
- As needed, design and implement an evaluation and reporting tool in collaboration with Program Director
